CHANNEL 5 GADGET SHOW BOWLED OVER AT BOWLPLEX

National leisure operator Bowlplex was transformed last week into a filming set for the award winning Channel 5 programme “The Gadget Show.”

 The television series, which focuses on the world of technology, filmed a feature for its eleventh series at Birmingham Bowlplex, which is located at the Broadway Plaza leisure destination.

 The “Wall of Fame Feature” saw presenters discussing the now infamous Space Invaders and Street Fighter II video games in Bowlplex Video World.  The presenters spent several hours playing on the games highlighting the groundbreaking features of the popular machines which were released to the public in 1978 and 1991 respectively, as they tried to determine the game which they felt changed the face of modern gadgetry. 

Bowlplex Coin-Operations Manager, Shane Wells said “It was absolutely brilliant watching this feature being filmed.  Bowlplex has always prided itself on offering the latest in video arcade action and clearly this is why we were chosen to feature on this innovative show.” 

 Bowlplex at Broadway Plaza provides entertainment for everyone from families to corporate groups with ten-pin bowling, the late licensed Stadium Sports Bar and Grill and Video World with the latest arcade technology.
